Land Tax
Registration Deadline
Investors
holding taxable property in NSW with a land
value greater than $359,000 must register
with the Office of State Revenue by 31 March

In NSW, land
tax applies to property owned at midnight on

specific exemption or concession applies.
The land value
used to determine the land tax liability
will generally be the average of the land
value for the current tax year and the land
values for the previous two years.
Investors who
think they may be liable for land tax can
register
They can also
visit the OSR’s website to calculate their
land tax liability, find out more about
exemptions or download land tax fact sheets.
Property
owners not registered for land tax may be
charged penalties and interest payments.
